The author describes it as an unfinished recreation of Mont-Saint-Michel. The world is about 1 km across, with open sea north, west and east of the island. A central island holds a walled town of houses on winding lanes climbing to a large abbey, with trees on the north and west. A sand beach rings the island, and roads total about 4.6 km. The south and southeast edges are flat sand with scattered scrub and no buildings. It suits close-quarters infantry fights through the town and abbey.
