Ore Mountains

Mostly dense forest broken by clearings and farm fields, about 10 km square, with elevations from 440 to 940 m. A large reservoir lies in the centre, with open fields south of it. Villages are small and scattered, including Medenec, Rusova, Orpus and Kotlina, and several map labels still read 'Town Name'. About 430 km of roads and tracks cross the woods. The terrain suits infantry patrols and small-unit forest fighting. The author calls it an early alpha of the Ore Mountains (Krušné hory) with empty and unfinished areas.
