Portland Island

One wooded island fills the centre of the 3 km world, with four small islets offshore to the north, west, south and southeast. An airstrip crosses the north-centre, with a compound to the west and a harbour on the east coast. Named sites include Airport, Barracks, Dock, Radio Hill and Light House Island. About 14 km of roads link them; bare rock ridges curve through the south, and the land rises to about 100 m. The author calls it a work-in-progress Canadian island. Suits small infantry operations.
