The 4 km map is mostly dense forest in the west, centre and south, at 220 to 330 m elevation. The northeast quarter is open pale ground with sparse scrub and little placed. Seventeen ponds and small lakes dot the woods, with a cluster in the east. About 50 km of straight roads form a loose grid; only 29 buildings exist and no towns are named. It suits small-unit forest patrols and ambushes, not urban fighting. The author says it is inspired by northern Russia.
