The author bases it on Yeonpyeong Island, South Korea. Most of the roughly 10 km world is open sea around three islands: a large wooded main island in the northwest, a small islet southwest of it, and a smaller wooded island in the south. A harbor town with long breakwaters sits on the main island's east coast. Dense forest, farm fields, western sand beaches and winding roads cover the rest, with 149 marked military positions. Ground imagery covers all land. It suits infantry and amphibious operations.
